Internships
Exhibitions Internship Project Description: Under the direction of the Exhibits Manager, the Exhibitions Intern will be responsible for completing a series of exhibit projects and help with routine maintenance of exhibits. The number and scope of projects that the exhibitions intern will complete will be determined by the duration of the internship and skill set of the applicant. The types of exhibit work included in the projects may include, but are not limited to:
When possible, the exhibitions intern will attend staff and department meetings to further their understanding of daily museum operations. Additionally, the Exhibitions Intern will assist on other museum projects and programs as required.
Hours: The work schedule will be during normal museum business hours Monday through Friday, but will be tailored to fit the exhibitions intern availability. Weekend work will be on an as needed basis. Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Qualifications: The exhibitions intern should be organized, able to communicate effectively, and problem solve. Some of the work required during the internship will be physical, therefore the exhibitions intern should be able to climb a ladder and lift 20 pounds*. Basic computer skills are required, and experience with Adobe Illustrator is a plus. *Inability to meet these physical requirements will not disqualify any candidate, merely influence what we ask them to do.
