Education at the Museum

Dedicated to helping visitors explore the history of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, the museum hosts a variety of educational programs for visitors of all ages. They include:

School Programs

School tours for the Charlotte Museum of History and Hezekiah Alexander Homesite are available throughout the school year. To make your school's reservation, please contact Liz Huseman. School tours include a downloadable tour packet.
Outreach opportunities include artifact-filled traveling trunks. Each trunk includes objects that can be handled by students, resource books, and accompanying teacher materials. To reserve a trunk, please contact Liz Huseman.
The museum offers a variety of special programs for Homeschoolers.

Adult Programs

Tours of the Homesite are offered at at 11:30am, 1:15pm, and 3:15pm daily, Tuesday-Friday, and 1:15pm and 3:15pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Group tours for adults are available by reservation.
The museum periodically offers lectures designed for adult audiences that focuses on literary and historical interests.

Youth and Family Programs
