Parking:
There is ample parking for
visitors arriving by cars, vans, or buses in our secure, on-site lot. The
parking lot is well lighted and monitored by security cameras. Also the
museum has a covered portico entrance for visitor drop-off and pick-up in
inclement weather.
Accessibility:
The Charlotte Museum of History is fully
accessible to visitors with limited mobility. Ample parking has been
reserved for handicapped visitors in the museum's parking lot.
Each of the
five galleries in the museum is wheelchair accessible, with an elevator
allowing access between the first and second floors. Restrooms located on
both floors are also wheelchair accessible. The Hezekiah Alexander House, on
the grounds of the Charlotte Museum of History, is not wheelchair
accessible.
For those that are unable to go on a walking tour of the Homesite, a virtual
tour is available inside the museum.
Dining:
Picnic in the past! Bring
a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful park-like setting of the museum grounds.
There are also many great restaurants located near the museum. For a list
